Introduction | Gallery Label These are a pair of Chinese 'lotus' shoes, hand sewn from silk and embroidered. They have a small curved heel and instep and deep cuff-like uppers of burgundy silk with an applied white cotton scroll decoration. They were created by a Chinese maker during the twentieth century. This pair were donated to Brighton Museum in 1971 by Mrs. G.D. Clark and are on display in the Body Gallery, Brighton Museum & Art Gallery.
