Introduction | Gallery Label

This is a human skull, part of an almost complete skeleton of a Saxon man found in an Anglo-Saxon burial site in Brighton, East Sussex. It is believed to date from the 7th Century A.D. In 2000 it was used as the basis for a facial reconstruction by Caroline Wilkinson (museum number HADB818).
