Introduction

This clear glass paperweight, "Perche", is in the shape of a fish. It was designed by Rene Lalique around 1929. It was also manufactured by Lalique in coloured glass and sold as a radiator cap or car mascot. The paperweight is used to illustrate the history of twentieth century design.
