Listen to recordings made in Bondoukou during Bedu performances. They are from a library of sound made by anthropologist Karel Arnaut during work with the makers and performers of Bedu.
- First, men and women in the crowd at Yérékaye sing lively and erotic songs.
- Women of Sianwodi address men in general with satiric songs.
They name the man dancing behind the mask and demonstrate their power and knowledge of the masquerade.
- As Bedu arrives Sie Koffi and his entourage from Boroponko sing praises.
The praise names are known only to speakers of the secret language of Bedu.
