Nesting Dolls

The most well known type of Russian dolls are the nesting or Matryoshka dolls. The dolls are made of turned wood and are different sizes which fit into one another as a set. They are painted and varnished. They have different designs such as female peasants, famous Russian characters, religious figures and animals.
